Coronation cupcakes planned for hospital patients

Patients in Solent’s community hospitals will be treated to a right royal menu this weekend to mark the Coronation of King Charles III.

Our Catering team will be serving afternoon tea with scones, jam and cream on Saturday, while in the evening the usual hot meal will be replaced with a celebration buffet.

On Sunday afternoon, patients will be treated to Coronation cupcakes decorated with the Union flag.

Iain Robertson, Catering Operations Manager, said: “We didn’t want our patients to miss out on the Coronation celebrations so decided to mark the occasion with a royal twist on our menu, which we hope they will enjoy.”

The Coronation menu will be served to inpatients at the Western Community Hospital and Royal South Hants Hospital in Southampton, and our St Mary’s and St James’ campuses and Jubilee House in Portsmouth.
