Programme of underground works at St James’ Hospital site

A five-month programme of works to alter the servicing infrastructure at our St James’ Hospital site in Portsmouth has swung into action.

Contractors will be based in the car park of the former vaccine centre while the work takes place between now and mid-August.

The gravel car park opposite Falcon House will be open as an alternative parking place for staff, patients and visitors.

Digging up of roads for trenching works around the site is expected to start imminently and diversions to specific roads will be put in place from April.

Any access alterations will be  confirmed directly with ward matrons and the site locality manager.

The project will also include an upgrade of on-site security measures including new CCTV cameras and vehicle barriers.
