Taking to the skies to keep office staff cool

Contractors working on an office transformation scheme needed a head for heights for part of the project.

The refurbishment of first-floor offices for our community nursing teams based at Bitterne Health Centre saw a roof-top platform being built to house a new centrally controlled ventilation system.

A crane was used to gently lower the unit down on to its new home above the centre in Commercial Street, Southampton.

The project, now completed, has created a large 64-desk open-plan office area for Solent staff, along with a managers’ office and two quiet areas.
