Trust tries energy-saving initiative in heating systems

An energy saving solution is being added to heating systems across Solent’s hospitals and health buildings in a bid to reduce costs and carbon emissions.

The colourless additive, called EndoTherm, reduces the surface tension of the system water, improving heat transfer, optimising system efficiency and saving energy.

It has already been installed in a number of NHS hospitals across the country.

At Solent, it is hoped the project could reduce the Trust’s gas consumption by up to 15 per cent.
